Eagle Scout- Whew!

This is old news, but trying to play catch up from the many years of not journaling/blogging.

Matt was an Eagle Scout a year ago.  If I am being truly honest, I am soooo glad that the scouting experience for Matt is over.  If we had to do it over again, we would have probably insisted that he join a different troop.  Even through the scouting challenges, he coached a Special Olympics Basketball Team for his Eagle Project.  He gained more of a tolerance, appreciation, and love for people who are different.  He cheered the team members on and got to know the athlete's personality.   I loved that he engaged with all the athletes at the Special Olympics.  The actual Court of Honor happened to be a day that we had record breaking heat temperatures.  Everyone so nicely endured the heat.

Matt wanted Uncle Craig to deliver the Eagle Scout Pledge.  It was great to see my wonderful brother present Matt with the Eagle Scout.

Matt's Dad, Bill, and his grandparents came.

All the cousins.  Thank you to Matt for setting a great example for the family!!!

  1. Matt looks so grown up! Congratulations to him and to you on his achievement. I know he couldn't have done it without your help.

Great job on starting a blog too! I've added you to my blog roll. Love you! xo
