Neighborhood Tropical Party

Steve and I rode our bikes to the neighborhood tropical party.  I love neighborhood get togethers where you can ride your bike.

Not sure what the guys were looking at on their phones, but obviously it was spell-binding.

Linda, Shelley, and Jenn.

This party was actually an auction item for our elementary school.
The PTA President, Jenn, along with a few other families put on this very fun party.

Steve, Craig, and Steve

The neighborhood band.  They were awesome.

We have such amazing families and people living in our neighborhood.
Love that we are a part of an amazing community.

We are attempting to do the hula.

Not sure when the elbows are used in the hula dance
Or the fingers that way.

Both Steves in their festive clothing.

Celebrating 15 years!

Bits of Activity

This is a little bit of a recap, but not inclusive.  I imagined lazy summer days to catch up with everything.  Matt has been in Vegas working at a law firm.  We miss him, but glad he is working.  We are busy as usual, but having a lot of fun.

Making a Captain America shield.  Stevie and Marky found a metal sign and painted it like a Captain America shield.

Marky got his first (and hopefully) his only "Dear John" letter from Khloe.  We didn't have the heart to read the note to Marky because he would be heartbroken. Though, he may still have a chance if he finds Khloe a rabbit.

An evening Giants game.  Max was spirited with his UT sweatshirt though a few fans called Max's bluff.  We might need to get him a Giants shirt for Christmas.

Boys enjoying the scene and the food.

A visit to Dad's office.  Stevie looks like he is closing a deal.

Marky LOVED "working" on the computer.

Kids looking so natural pretending to be working.  Even Matt liked "Cafe G."

Chelsea, Madison, and Mo celebrating a birthday for Madison.
So grateful that Chelsea has such sweet friends.

Our backyard end of May.  Love spending time out there.

Marky and Steve doing some pre-dinner activities.

Chelsea and I went to see Mary Poppins.

It was fantastic.  Chelsea and I were amazed at the talents of others.  So grateful that the performers were able to share their talents with us.

Marky enjoying a slow morning, cuddling with Buddy.

Stevie making a quick stop by Stan's Donuts before a Boy Scout training meeting.

This sweet girl really does eat an apple a day.

Enjoying biking to Shoreline on my new bike.

Chelsea's end of year water party.  Notice Scott (my adopted son) in the background.

Chelsea and Laynie anxiously waiting for the sponge to make its appearance.
Love when the sponge finally appears, Laynie is looking the other way.

Mr. Kahl so willingly controlling the water.

Chelsea trying to get Mr. Kahl's attention to get "cooled off."

These two sweet children are such good friends.  Marky and Kendyll patiently attend their "umpteenth," school activity for their siblings.  Next year, they finally will go to school and attend their own activities.

Quick trip to Great America.  Notice Chelsea's face;  I made her go on Drop Zone and she was upset.  This picture was taken as they were waiting to shoot upward.  I did not get the after picture when she was all smiles or the pictures of the three other times they rode it that day.  Hopefully, she will learn at an early age, that mother knows best.

In honor of Matt, Marky chose the patriotic horse on the merry-go-round.

Celebrating 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with the Livengoods and Kosts.

A few End of Year Activities

There are so many activities during the month of May and June.  I was so relieved when school was finally done for the year.   The kids were EXTREMELY happy.  Marky can not wait for Kindergarten to start.   He said,  "The first day of Kindergarten will be the best day of my whole life."  I have such mixed feelings of the new school year.  In August, we will have a Senior in High School and a Kindergartner.  An ending and a beginning at once.

Back to the end of 2012 school year. . .
Every year, Huff Elementary puts on a carnival for the families. This year's theme was
"Huff goes Royal."
Matt took Marky.

 A Facebook worthy picture???

Not sure what Marky is saying to Matt.

Maybe warning him.. .

Sweet Friends- Chelsea and Laynie.

Waving like a royal by the Cinderella carriage.

Stevie and friends starting a new game:  lacrosse on a wake board.

Not sure what Marky had face painted on his face, but he sure looks happy.

Boys discover the game Risk.  Reminds me of Jason and Scott playing all the time.

Little boys playing basketball at the gym.

Then an innocent bribe to McDonalds.

Chelsea's 4th grade class did a play about Biomes, Finding the right Biome.  Chelsea had the most amazing teacher this year.  Ms. Luongo's teaching style is so creative, she was always finding ways to reach the students by teaching things differently not from a text book.
 Chelsea and partner were grass.

They sang and danced with all their hearts.

Chelsea had  been practicing her song at home.  Very cute performance.

School Talent Show

Chelsea and Mo did an Irish Dance
Chelsea and friends did another number for the Talent Show.

Last day of school celebratory lunch at Burger Town.

The boys celebrating the last day of school playing Risk.  These boys sure know how to let loose.  Stevie has amazing friends-  We love when these boys come over.
While they were outside playing Risk, they apparently heard a gun shot and got very scared.  Not sure what the noise was, but I did find the boys hiding upstairs.   I then found myself driving all around the neighborhood with five boys in the car looking for the bad guy who had a gun.  They were so convinced that they had heard a gun.  It was so interesting to hear all their theories about why the bad guy had to fire the gun.

Additional Note:  we live in a very safe area.  There is even a police officer a few doors down who was outside at the time and did not hear anything. I think it may have been construction noise.  The boys story is much more exciting.
