Graduation- An Ending of Sorts

This year has been emotional for me as Matt's graduation approached.  It started with getting his Senior proofs in the mail and I could not even look at them for two months because I would start to cry.  We made it through the year and all is well.  Now, we are focused on Matt going to Europe for 3 weeks and off to college.  A new chapter for all of us.

Matt and Nate leaving for graduation.  Driving together for the last time to high school.

I always get choked up during the Pomp and Circumstance march.
When Matt's name was called and he walked across the stage it literally took my breath away.
It seemed so symbolic that his childhood was over.

With the throwing of the hats, the kids seem on top of the world.  I found this quote from a graduation talk that I want to share with Matt.

"If I were back in high school and someone asked about my plans, I'd say that my first priority was to learn what the options were. You don't need to be in a rush to choose your life's work. What you need to do is discover what you like. You have to work on stuff you like if you want to be good at what you do."

Matt with me and Sunny.  Matt is so lucky to have such a wonderful women in his life.

New tradition of decorating caps.  Of course, we had to put an American Flag on Matt's.

Matt is such a great older brother.  He has a set a great example for all six of his siblings.

Matt with all of his cousins (well, minus the Southern Cal and N.J).  WE missed having you!
